Bio: Dr. Stephanie Guerra
Dr. Stephanie Guerra a biologist and science policy professional currently serving as the Senior Policy Advisor for Biosecurity at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), where she works on advancing pandemic preparedness and biodefense innovation. She previously was as an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the Department of Veterans Affairs and a Mirzayan Science Policy Fellow at the National Academies of Science. In these roles, Dr. Guerra has worked on policy development and program implementation for key policy priorities including opioids safety; precision oncology; diversity, equity, and inclusion; biodefense; and pandemic preparedness. Dr. Guerra also formerly served as an Ending Bioweapons Fellow with the Council on Strategic Risks where she researched and developed policy and programmatic solutions for reducing biological risks. She received her Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University and her B.S. in Biological Sciences and B.A. in Hispanic Studies from Carnegie Mellon University.
